How a project runs.
Plain-English terms so both sides know what to expect. These are a summary of what goes in your written scope, which is the document that counts.
Scope in writing
Before any work starts we agree what the site covers, what's on it, and any integrations. Pricing for additional functionality and integrations is only given after consultation and research. Anything added later is a priced change request, agreed before it's built.
Paid up front
The full build price is paid before work starts. Payment reserves your slot and starts the build. Card, Apple Pay and international payments accepted.
Change your mind? 50% refund
If you decide not to go ahead while the build is still in progress, I refund 50% of the build price. Once the build is complete and ready for handover or launch, the full price is retained for work completed. The $199 mockup fee is non-refundable, since the work is delivered up front.
Two rounds of revisions
A round is one consolidated batch of feedback. Two are included. Further rounds are billed hourly and agreed first.
Content is yours to supply
Text, photos, logos and, where the site connects to something, access to those platforms. The timeline starts when all content is received. Projects with no content for 30 days are paused and rescheduled.
Integrations confirmed first
Booking, payment and calendar platforms are checked during intake, before you pay. If a platform can't be embedded, the site links prominently to your existing booking page instead.
Email is yours
Set up Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or whichever provider you prefer, in your own account so the mailboxes belong to you. I’ll add the records that point your domain at it. I don’t administer mailboxes or provide email support, and enquiries from the site are delivered to whichever address you give me.
Credentials and keys
Where an integration needs credentials, I ask for an API key or access token scoped to the job, not your account password. If a key is required I’ll ask you to send it through a secure service using a one-time or self-destructing link rather than plain email, and I can help you set that up if you haven’t used one before. Keys are kept out of the code and stored as environment variables in the hosting platform, and revoked whenever you ask. On the care plan the site runs in my hosting account, so I hold the key; after a handover the site is on your hosting and you enter it yourself.
Ownership
Your domain is registered in your name and stays yours. I never register one in mine, and if you don’t have a domain yet I’ll help you buy it in your own account. Your content is yours too. On the care plan I host the site and its code. On handover it moves to your preferred platform: $99 for a straight transfer, or $500 if you would like help choosing a hosting platform, getting the site running on it, and a session teaching you the basics of keeping it going on your own.
Enquiry forms
While your site is on the care plan, the enquiry form runs through my form service and delivers to whichever address you nominate. The form service is mine, not yours, so it doesn’t transfer. By default a copy of each enquiry is kept in my dashboard as well as going to your inbox, which is what makes troubleshooting a missing enquiry possible. Ask me and I’ll turn that off, though a lost enquiry then can’t be traced. If you take one of the handover paths, I’ll point you at setting up your own form account and show you what to change, so the form keeps working under your control.
Backups after handover
Once a site is handed over, backups are your responsibility. I do not retain a copy or provide any backup or recovery service. If the code is deleted or corrupted on your side it may be unrecoverable. Sites on the care plan are version controlled by me and can be rolled back instantly.
Care plan
$99 a month covers hosting, monitoring, security patching, version control with instant rollback, and up to three small content changes a month. New features and integrations will need to be quoted separately. Cancel any time, with the option of adding on one of my advertised handover paths, or I can simply deactivate the hosting if you prefer.
Mockup credit
Mockups work like a trial. The $199 website mockup fee is credited against a build started within 90 days. The fee itself is not refundable.
Launch offer
Under the launch offer the build is provided at no charge in exchange for a 12-month care plan at $99 a month. The 12 months are a commitment: if the plan is cancelled early, the balance of the 12 payments falls due. After 12 months the plan continues month to month and can be cancelled any time on the usual terms. Moving the site to your own hosting later is possible through one of the available handover paths, on the usual terms. Multiple pages and an optional enquiry form are included; integrations with third-party platforms, such as payments, calendars or bookings, are quoted separately.
Prices in Australian dollars. Canino Digital is registered for GST, so Australian customers pay GST included in the listed price and the Stripe receipt is a valid tax invoice. Services supplied to customers outside Australia are GST-free.
