4AM license terms
The terms, in plain English.
By downloading or using 4AM for Apple Mail you agree to these terms. They are written to be read. Last updated 5 October 2026.
Who these terms are with
Canino Digital is the trading name of John Canino, a sole trader in Brisbane, Australia, ABN 11 790 420 328. 4AM for Apple Mail is made and sold by Canino Digital. In these terms “I” means Canino Digital and “4AM” means the 4AM for Apple Mail app.
Free trial
4AM runs free for 7 days with every feature working. After that its shortcuts switch off, and Mail behaves as it does without 4AM, until you enter a license key. Please use the trial to check that 4AM suits your Mac and your Mail before you buy.
What a license is
A license is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use 4AM. 4AM is licensed to you, not sold: Canino Digital keeps ownership of the app and everything in it.
How many Macs
One license key can be active on up to 3 Macs that you own or use yourself. To move it to another Mac, choose Deactivate on This Mac in the app, then activate on the new one.
Keep your key to yourself
Don’t share, publish, resell or give away your license key. I may switch off a key that has been shared or published, or one whose payment has been refunded or reversed.
What you agree not to do
Don’t copy or redistribute 4AM, get around the trial or licensing, or reverse engineer or modify it, except where the law gives you a right to that can’t be excluded. You’re welcome to share the link to the download page.
Price and payment
The price is shown in US dollars on the 4AM page and at checkout. Sales are processed by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record, which may add sales tax or GST depending on where you live. Its terms apply to the payment itself.
Refunds
Because 4AM can be tried free and in full for 7 days, I don’t generally refund a purchase for a change of mind. If 4AM doesn’t work as described, email 4am@caninodigital.com and I’ll fix the problem or refund you. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or the consumer law where you live.
What 4AM needs
4AM requires macOS 27 or later and the Accessibility permission, which lets it see which part of Mail is selected and press Mail’s menu commands for you. Without that permission it does nothing.
Compatibility and updates
4AM is tested on macOS 27 with Mail 16. It relies on parts of macOS and Mail that Apple can change at any time, so I can’t guarantee it will keep working with future versions. I intend to keep it working and release fixes when I can, but updates and new features aren’t promised.
Your shortcuts act on your mail
4AM carries out Mail commands such as Archive, Delete and Send when you press a shortcut. You’re responsible for the shortcuts you choose and the keys you press. Most actions can be reversed with Undo in Mail.
No warranty beyond the law
Your statutory consumer rights always apply. Beyond those, 4AM is provided as it is, without any other promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost or mishandled email, and my total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your license. This doesn’t limit any liability that can’t legally be limited.
Privacy
What 4AM does with your keyboard, your Mail and your details is set out in the 4AM privacy policy.
Independent app
4AM is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple, Google or Microsoft. Apple Mail and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. Gmail is a trademark of Google LLC. Outlook and Windows are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. If they change, the new version is published here with a new date; the version in place when you bought applies to your purchase.
